An email alias (also called a masked or hide-my-email address) is a stand-in address that forwards everything it receives to your real inbox. Instead of typing your actual email into every signup form, you hand out an alias like x7k2m9qw4b@privmask.com. The sender never learns your real address.
Unlike a throwaway temporary inbox, an alias is yours for as long as you want it — and you can shut any single alias down the moment it starts misbehaving.
How Alias Forwarding Works
Mail sent to your alias arrives at privmask.com and is instantly forwarded to the inbox you chose. The sender only ever sees the alias. Aliases are receive-only for now — replies go out from your real address while reply-from-alias is still rolling out.
