Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an app password for Outlook.com?

Generally no, unless you have two-factor authentication enabled. Most email clients support OAuth2 authentication with Outlook.com.

What's the difference between Outlook.com and Office 365?

Outlook.com is the free consumer email service, while Office 365 is the business version. Both use similar server settings but may have different authentication requirements.

Can I use POP3 instead of IMAP?

Yes, but IMAP is recommended as it syncs emails across all devices. POP3 downloads emails to one device only.

Why are my sent emails not showing up?

Check your SMTP settings and ensure your email client is configured to save sent emails to the server's Sent folder.
