GoDaddy Email Types
This guide works for both GoDaddy Email (legacy) and GoDaddy Workspace Email (Microsoft 365-based).
- Ensure you have an active GoDaddy Email or Workspace Email account
- Know your complete email address and password
- Have your email client ready for configuration
- Check if you have GoDaddy Email (legacy) or Workspace Email (Office 365)
Step 1: Identify Your GoDaddy Email Type
GoDaddy Email (Legacy)
- Webmail URL: email.secureserver.net
- Basic email features
- Uses GoDaddy's own email servers
- Usually older accounts
GoDaddy Workspace Email
- Webmail URL: outlook.office365.com
- Microsoft 365 features
- Uses Microsoft's servers
- Newer accounts and upgrades
Step 2A: GoDaddy Email (Legacy) Configuration
Microsoft Outlook Configuration
- Open Outlook and go to File → Add Account
- Choose "Manual setup or additional server types"
- Select "POP or IMAP"
- Enter your account information:
- Your Name: [Your full name]
- Email Address: [your-email@yourdomain.com]
- Account Type: IMAP
- Incoming mail server: imap.secureserver.net
- Outgoing mail server: smtpout.secureserver.net
- User Name: [your complete email address]
- Password: [Your email password]
- Click "More Settings" → "Advanced" tab
- Set incoming server port to 993 with SSL encryption
- Set outgoing server port to 587 with STARTTLS encryption
- Check "My outgoing server requires authentication"
Mozilla Thunderbird Configuration
- Open Thunderbird and go to File → New → Existing Mail Account
- Enter your name, GoDaddy email address, and password
- Click "Configure manually" if auto-detection fails
- Set the following settings:
- Incoming: IMAP, imap.secureserver.net, Port 993, SSL/TLS
- Outgoing: SMTP, smtpout.secureserver.net, Port 587, STARTTLS
- Username: your complete email address
- Authentication: Normal password
- Click "Re-test" and then "Create Account"
Apple Mail Configuration
- Open Mail app and go to Mail → Preferences → Accounts
- Click the "+" button to add a new account
- Select "Other Mail Account"
- Enter your name, GoDaddy email address, and password
- Configure manually if needed:
- Incoming Mail Server: imap.secureserver.net
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtpout.secureserver.net
- Use SSL for both incoming and outgoing
- Incoming port: 993, Outgoing port: 587
- Click "Sign In" to complete the setup
Step 2B: GoDaddy Workspace Email Configuration
Workspace Email Note
GoDaddy Workspace Email uses Microsoft 365 servers. Use the same settings as Outlook.com.
Workspace Email Settings:

- Security: SSL/TLS
SMTP Settings
- Server: smtp.office365.com
- Port: 587
- Security: STARTTLS
Note: For Workspace Email, follow the same configuration steps as above but use the Office 365 server settings.
Alternative Port Settings
If Standard Ports Don't Work

- Port 465 with SSL/TLS encryption
- Port 25 (usually blocked by ISPs)
- Port 80 (non-secure, not recommended)
POP3 Settings (Alternative to IMAP)
- Server: pop.secureserver.net
- Port: 995 with SSL/TLS
- Port 110 (non-secure)
Mobile Device Configuration
iPhone/iPad Setup
- Go to Settings → Mail → Accounts
- Tap "Add Account" → "Other"
- Tap "Add Mail Account"
- Enter your email details
- Use the IMAP/SMTP settings above
Android Setup
- Open Email app or Gmail
- Tap "Add Account" → "Other"
- Choose "Personal (IMAP)"
- Enter your email and password
- Configure with the settings above
